Project Details

Sector: Commercial
Client:  M20 Property
Works: Removal of 10,000m2 of asbestos cement roofing sheets & ceiling underboarding

Project Description

In July 2018, we started a large asbestos removal project for our client M20 Property. The project involved the removal of 10,000m2 of asbestos cement to a warehouse roof located in Rhyl, North Wales. Before we could commence with the removal of the asbestos cement sheeting, we first had to remove the roof underlining. The roof underlining material consisted of a mixture of plasterboard, compressed cardboard and fiberglass.
Also, due to the internal height of the property we required the use of two scissor lift platforms to reach the roofing sheets. All operators were trained in the use of MEWPS (mobile elevating work platforms) and the work at height regulations and were IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) trained. All operatives had to be compliant at all times of the correct manual handling procedures due to the size and weight of each asbestos cement roofing sheets.
