Project Details

Sector: Demolition
Client:  GNW Estates
Works: Removal of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) to the wall linings of the building structure

Project Description

In November 2018, LAS commenced asbestos removal works on a former Gala Bingo establishment in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Our client GNW Estates, required all asbestos in the premises to be removed before demolition could take place.
Once demolished, the site will house a brand new 63 bed Travelodge.
The majority of works carried out on the property was work that could only be carried out by a licensed contractor such as LAS. Our task was to remove approx 600m2 of Asbestos Insulating board (AIB) to the wall linings of the building structure.
The large scale of the building meant that we were unable to access all of the asbestos from the ground. We needed to use mobile working platforms to perform the removal successfully.
All operatives using the mobile platforms were required to hold up to date IPAF training. The added use of these machines also had to be reflected in our risk assessments that were carried out on site.
